Dr. Michael Purcell is a native of southern Colorado. In 1993, Dr. Mike earned his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Mike was awarded the Quintessence Award for academic achievement and the Operative Award for excellence in practice teaching. After graduation, he practiced general dentistry for three years. In 1996, Dr. Mike was accepted to a hospital based pediatric dental program at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Mike’s studies consisted of oral management of bone marrow transplant patients, pediatric medicine, oral surgery, anesthesiology and he was a member of the cleft lip and palate team at Boys Town.
It is Dr. Mike’s passion to ensure that oral health is available to anyone in need. He has traveled with International Surgical Missions to both Ecuador and the Philippines to provide dental treatment in impoverished villages. He has also volunteered services for Colorado Mission of Mercy and Delta Dental’s “Give Kids a Smile Day” for many years.
Dr. Mike received two additional years of special training working with children, teenagers and special needs patients. Parents who feel strongly about taking their children to a pediatrician should take their children to a pediatric dentist for the same reasons. Dr. Mike has over 20 years of pediatric specialty experience. Dr. Mike’s primary focus is on the needs of kids and to put them at ease during their visit.
